2005年9月，马桥镇被中央文明委表彰为“全国文明村镇”。获此殊荣的镇，山东省共28家，淄博市仅此一家。这是马桥镇继2005年2月份获国家统计局表彰的“全国高水平综合发展镇”以来，获得的又一项殊荣。至此，连同去年获得的“全国重点镇”表彰，马桥镇共获得三项国家级荣誉。
